Guide Review - Far Cry Review
In Far Cry you play the role of Jack Carver, owner of a private boat charter business in the South Pacific. You've recently been hired buy a woman to travel around Micronesia.
As you can probably guess, your trip does not go as planned and after having your ship destroyed while under mysterious attack, you are washed ashore on a tropical island having to fend for yourself. The storyline is intriguing as you attempt to find your missing passenger and uncover more mystery you ever expected.
The graphics for Far Cry are truly amazing, forget about waiting for Doom 3 or Half Life 2 to be released, if you want state of the art graphics and animation you will find it in Far Cry.
The overall game play for single player Far Cry is excellent, some levels/missions are a bit difficult but it contains 20+ hours of game play. It also offers a mice number of weapons but you're only allowed to carry a few so you'll have to make sure you have the right ones in hand for every situation. A large variety of vehicles such as hang gliders, boats, jeeps and more and can be played in first or third person point of view.
Far Cry may have flown low under the radar when all the press was on how great Doom 3 and Half Life 2 were, and still possibly are, going to be. But the secret is starting to get out and who knows this may even garner game of the year honors, there's still plenty of time left though. At least now the pressure is even higher for Half Life 2 and Doom 3 to avoid any further delays.
